About HIMACHAL PRADESH


Situated in the Western Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh is one of the northern states in India. The name Himachal was given by one of the Sanskrit scholars of the state Acharya Diwakar Datt Sharma. The state is famous for its hill stations, natural environment, and temples. Among all Indian states, Himachal Pradesh boasts of having the highest per capita income. The census of 2011 shows that the population of Himachal Pradesh is 68.65 lakhs, which was 60.78 lakhs according to the census of 2001.
